A Primer on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

If you are interested in increasing your basic understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, I would highly recommend the CFR’s Crisis Guide on the subject.

At a minimum, I would recommend the Video Overview and the whole of Chapter II:  The Territorial Puzzle, which includes a primer on all of the territories under discussion as well as one the various conflicts from 1947 to 2006.

Back in the early 70’s I read a book on this topic titled “Oh Jerusalem” (or maybe “O Jerusalem”, I can’t remember) which was written by a Palestinian. It was very enlightening. I don’t know if it’s still available after all these years but if you can find a copy, read it.
