Souter’s House Targeted
New Hampshire businessman Logan Darrow Clements has filed papers seeking to use the newly-defined eminent domain law to seize Justice David Souter’s house and replace it with a hotel.
The proposed development, called “The Lost Liberty Hotel” will feature the “Just Desserts Café” and include a museum, open to the public, featuring a permanent exhibit on the loss of freedom in America. Instead of a Gideon’s Bible each guest will receive a free copy of Ayn Rand’s novel “Atlas Shrugged.”
Clements indicated that the hotel must be built on this particular piece of land because it is a unique site being the home of someone largely responsible for destroying property rights for all Americans.
“This is not a prank” said Clements, “The Towne of Weare has five people on the Board of Selectmen. If three of them vote to use the power of eminent domain to take this land from Mr. Souter we can begin our hotel development.”

I cannot wait to propose the seizure of a fancy Foxhill mansion in DC to build a Denny's. I don't know who said this ruling was bad for the common man, but whoever it was didn't know how to have fun!
Marvelous exploitation of the Law of Unintended Consequences. It makes me proud to be an olf-fashioned New Englander.
Man, why stop with Souter? Let's take the houses of more world-government types!
Cheers!
Yes folks, there is justice in the world. Pun intended.
I can just imagine in the future: "That's right kids, I was born here." "But Dad, this is the music section in Walmart." "That's right, Sweetie."
I saw this really hillarious comment on one of the blogs: "Visit our store where your neighbor used to be"
Time to start taking the homes of all the bad liberals. Ted (hic-up) Kennedy, John sKerry, Hillary and Bill...wow the list could go on...
I propose we replace them with "sack and suds" convience stores...afterall...there's lot's of money to be made on the "sin taxes"!!! :)
Justice Souter to be hung by his own robe. Nothing like foiling the pinheadedness of the power elite and doing it with their own set of rules approved by their own hand. Souter issued himself the kill shot. He wins the Constitutional Darwinism Award.
I have to say that this news has brought a big smile to my face. Any idea how the process works as far as what it takes to condemn his his property? Simple majority plus what? What is the appeals process like. Wow, would I like to see him have to jump through the hoops to stop this.
It is really scary knowing that a city council has such power - esp. if you live in a place like Richmond where the biggest business for the courts is the crimes (bribery/corruption) of the city council members over the years.
Here is a copy of an email I sent to the Selectmen in Weare earlier today:
Board of Selectmen
Weare, New Hampshire
Dear Selectmen:
My wife and I would like to book a suite in the "Lost Liberty Hotel" on the former farm of Chief Justice Souter for opening night.
If still available, we would like to stay in the "Justice Souter Be Careful What You Wish for Suite" on the top floor.
If that should be already booked, then please give us a suite with a balcony overlooking the splendid views of the former Souter property.
Also please reserve dinner for us at the "Just Desserts Café."
Let us know which credit cards you accept. We would like to do our part in bringing economic prosperity to your town.
Looking forward to getting out of the city,
Lyle Jenkins
