FRIDAY CAT BLOGGING

Memo to self: Always keep bowl of dry food topped off: AP

A group of hungry cats began to eat their 86-year-old owner after she suffered an apparent stroke and couldn’t get up for nearly a week, officials said Thursday.

Mae Lowrie, who lives with seven cats, was discovered unconscious and riddled with bite marks Wednesday night at her Panorama City apartment, Fire Department and hospital officials said.

She was listed in fair condition at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, said hospital spokeswoman Lisa Kort.

The cats, apparently without food for that time, also tried to eat Lowrie’s small dog. . . .

Seems like a good reason for lonely old ladies not to own cats.

A parakeet won't try to eat you if you've fallen and can't get up.

This is the first time I've heard of them starting before the person is actually dead.

Well, they were starving to death. If you're going to have seven cats, it's probably a good idea to have a friend or two that will notice that you haven't come out of the house in seven days and check on you.

FRIDAY CAT BLOGGING

Scamp, Henry, and I are taking a snow day.

While these photographs may give the impression that all the cats do is lie around on the couch, that would be inaccurate. Sometimes, they lie around on one of the beds, on the floor, or on various ledges.

Scamp looks very sweet (in that bottom picture) - or is that Henry? I can't remember which is which.

Nothing wrong with those cats that couldn't be solved by a dog.

What a beauty Henry is. Come to think of it, he and Gracie look enough alike to be siblings.

Bigtime "awwww" moment.
