 Outside the Beltway

Italian Drivers’ Test

Laurence Simon offers a proposed additional question for the driver’s licensing exam in Italy:

You are approaching a checkpoint where there are armed troops waving flashlights and firing warning shots over your vehicle. You:

    a) Stop
    b) Speed up
    c) Immediately make a U-turn and head for the nearest cafe for expresso and gelato
    d) Crap your pants

He also adds an essay question:

Let’s say that Tiger Woods is at the Masters. He breezes through the course with Eagles and Birdies. Then, at the 18th hole, he hops in the golf cart, runs a checkpoint with armed troops guarding it, and he and the cart get shot up by the cops.

Would you say that Tiger Woods concluded that round of golf brilliantly?

Hmm.

(Filed under Terrorism, Europe, Sports, Humor–perhaps the first post with quite that combination of categories.)

Laurence's post is quite possibly the funniest thing I've read all week. The whole Italian accent thing has me playing the incident in my head with Mario and Luigi driving the car with Princess Peach in the backseat. Coalition forces throw some warning banana peels, but to no avail.

Do I have to mask "@sshole" on this blog? Cause I can do that.

Heh. Probably, so, actually. I suspect the default comment filter would catch it otherwise.
