Katrina: Will There Be a New Orleans in 2006?

South Louisiana resident Karl Maher thinks there is a strong possibility New Orleans will never recover from the Hurricane Katrina nightmare.

Rebuilding a city from scratch is an urban planner's wet dream.

To think about rebuilding a city that is entirely below sea level and subsiding ever deeper as time goes on is absurd. The cost to rebuild the city will no doubt be in the multiple billions of dollars. Why not spend the money that would be thrown away at the next hurricane and relocate the city population and let the city revert back to what mother nature has always intended it to be; a swamp.
