Cartoons as Emotional Torture and Intellectual Terrorism

Intellectual Terrorism (Milli Gazette)

The detestable cartoon portrayals of Muhammad, Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him) by Danish and later by Norwegian, French, German and many other European newspapers is nothing less than emotional torture and intellectual terrorism.
Uh, no. To equate the publication of mostly innocuous cartoons to torture and terrorism is beyond disingenuous and crosses over into the realm of asinine stupidity. A cartoon is not equal to a beheading or a hijacked plane flying into a building. It’s a cartoon.
In universities, European and American journalists are often taught that freedom of speech ends where the sensitivities of people begin. Seemingly, they have failed to implement this most ethical and moral lesson. A newspaper, whether Danish or Portuguese, that indulges in opinionated reporting by making fun of a major religious figure revered by a global community is an exercise in emotional torture.
I hope to God that this isn’t what is being taught in any university on the planet. Abdullah seems to think that my rights end at the point where his feelings get hurt, an idea which of course negates freedom of speech and subjugates it to the most easily offended. (note: freedom is good, subjugation is bad)
If this is the most enlightened argument Muslim intellectuals can come up with, we’re in for a bumpy ride.

Pffft.
Dr Abdullah sure has sensative feelings, or is it just one more Islamist trying to gain sympathy through the use on a few choice words, intellectual terrorism, and emotional torture.
Did Dr Abdullah condem and speak out against the beheadings, about the killing of 3000 innocent people on 9/11 or the killing of innocent women and children thruout the world. I bet not.
Dr abdullah seems to be "just another towellhead" spreading his brand of hate America and now hate Europeans in order to justify their terroristic misdeeds everywhere.
Dr Abdullah, Islam is a Violent, terroristic, sadistic and hatefull religon and it's time you and the rest of radicals who practice Islam to recognize that fact and, if possible, join the civilized world. If not, join those who just want their 72 virgins, without virginas, I hope.
If the good dortor is in the US, GET THE HELL OUT, your kind is not wanted here.
If our ride is going to be bumpy, just imagine how deep the potholes are going to be on the road they've chosen to travel. And no, it certainly isn't the one less traveled, though it may make all the difference.
If you are a P.C. holy fighter,(liberal media) it is one of the things you hold sacred.

While I totally agree with your comment, you brought this entire fiasco on yourselves. Your country, Denmark, like the rest of Europe, with your very liberal ways and attitudes, welcomed those towelheads in with open arms. Now you have to "take the heat" with no kitchen to get out of.
It is interesting though, that the usual European "Anti American" rehtoric and attitude is changing fast and you are finding out what Americans knew all along.

Sadly, this is not a bad description of the atmosphere of political correctness at some of these universities. Perhaps Dr. Abdullah is a more careful observer than you think.
