Karr’s DNA Not a Match with JonBenet Ramsey

The search for JonBenet Ramsey’s killer will begin anew, as DNA tests have excluded confessor John Mark Karr from the list of suspects.

The DNA sample taken from John Mark Karr does not match DNA found on JonBenet Ramsey’s body when she was murdered in 1996, CNN affiliate KUSA is reporting.

KUSA, based in Denver, Colorado, quoted two sources in a bulletin on its Web site: “9NEWS has confirmed from two sources that the DNA sample taken from John Mark Karr is not a match with the foreign DNA found on JonBenet Ramsey’s body when she was murdered in 1996. 9NEWS has also learned the Boulder County District Attorney’s office will not file charges against Karr in connection with the Ramsey case.”

Bad news for the Ramsey family, as a match might have provided some much needed closure.

Well, I guess we can write him off as a nutjob who either wanted out of Thailand (those "unrelated sex charges") and/or was seeking his 15 minutes of fame.

I started out hopeful this would bring an end to the case, but as time passed I just couldn't hold onto it. Too many holes.

He obviously needs psychiatric help, given those other charges in Thailand.

A deeply f'ed up individual. Not that his being guilty would have made him any less f'ed up, but still...

This is pretty much not a surprise. Unfortunately we have to tolerate the media frenzy that will surely accompany any new pretender in the Ramsey case.

Maybe we can get a 1970 version of MSWord and find something reading "Kerry's DNA a match..."

That ought to keep the fires burning for a while.

why does a DNA mismatch eliminate him as a suspect?...didn't do anything for the Duke lacrosse players.
