My First Original Reporting

As the OTB Roving Correspondent for New Orleans, I actually ran into George Stephanopoulos at the Acme Oyster House. Of course, it wasn’t a professional run-in: I’m not a professional. Nevertheless, I met him and he’s in NOLA to do a story tomorrow. I was discreet and didn’t want to disturb him too much.

I said: “You look exactly like George Stephanopoulos.”

He said: “I am George Stephanopoulos”.

For me, a news junkie, it was almost as great as meeting Jennifer Aniston (almost).

Anyway, he’ll be in NOLA tomorrow only to do a story. I assume it’s Katrina related. Watch “This Week” to find out.

I can hardly wait till you meet Tony Snow 🙂

  2. I know. It is a bit fawning, isn’t it? 🙂

I think it’s more of an age-based perspective. To you, Ms. Aniston is just an attractive older woman. To me, she’s that PYT that would make me look like a fool, stumbling over my words and “Heh-heh”-ing like an episode of Beavis and Butthead.

    Stephanopolis, not so much.

George Stephanopoulos goes to my church in DC. I often see him on Sunday’s with his daughter. He appears to be a decent fella.

I’ve always liked him. I remember during the ’96 election (I think, maybe ’98), after he left Clinton for the news networks, I loved the name. Stephanopoulos. Best last name in news today.

Also, I may disagree with him on some things, but he seems like a smart, decent fellow you could have lunch with.

You’ve got a crush on George S.? Yikes!!!!!
