 Outside the Beltway

10 Million

OTB passed the 10 million mark as tabulated by SiteMeter sometime Monday. I noticed it last night but the timing seemed inappropriate.

Thanks as always to those who visit, comment, and link.

As I’ve often noted, SiteMeter is far from the best measure of site traffic, but its ubiquity has long made it the standard for inter-blog comparison. According to my site host, OTB had 1,208,366 visits and 4,793,926 page views last month alone.

Previous milestones:

  • 9 Million - September 18, 2006
  • 8,000,000 - July 19, 2006
  • 7,000,000 - April 28, 2006

Congrats!

I'm curious if you have tried Google's analytic service? And how it measures up with Site Meter?

Thanks!

Google Analytics really isn't very useful from what I've seen. SiteMeter is lousy for counting but is at least useful for cross-blog traffic comparison and seeing where visitors are coming from. GA only tells you the top few sources for traffic over a short span .
