Mitt Romney and the Politics of Mormonism

Steven Taylor has a longish, detailed discussion of the bearing Mormonism might have on the chances of Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney gaining the Republican nomination, much less winning the presidency in 2008.

I’ve got no real dog in this one, as I tend to think of most religious belief systems (although not religious people) as rather odd, coming as I do from a purely secular perspective. Still, Taylor does an excellent job of laying out the reasons that Evangelical Christians might have a problem with Romney’s Mormonism.

The “South Park” gang did an excellent job in that regard, too.
