The staff at CQ Politics have compiled a comprehensive list of all the candidates currently announced, started an exploratory committee, or are widely considered to be running for president for 2008. It’s ridiculously long.

Its been 40 years since we haven't had a president or sitting vice president run (and then we had a former vice president running). Of course the list is going to be long. This is the most "open" election in at least a generation.
