Inflation Rose in February
Due to higher energy prices inflation rose 0.4% on a seasonally adjusted basis. Seasonally un-adjusted the CPI -U rose 2.4% since February of 2006. The primary reason for the increase was higher energy prices. Energy prices (seasonally adjusted) 0.9% for February. Othe fuel related indexes changed as follows,
- Fuels and utilities: 1.2%
- Fuel Oil: 0.5%
- Natural Gas: 5%
Food also rose quite a bit, increasing 0.8% for February and 3.1% since Feburary of last year.

OK, prices rose 0.4%. How much did inflation rise? Was it less than 0.4% in January?
