Collection to Honor Fallen Soldiers

A bipartisan effort led by Comments From Left Field and Conservative Thinking is seeking to raise money to help the families of wounded soldiers. They’re doing it in honor of Sgt. Omar Mora and Sgt. Yance T. Gray, 82nd Airborne Division soliders made famous by a NYT op-ed downplaying the success of the Surge and later tragically killed in that war.

CFLF’s Kyle Moore:

Sgt. Omar Mora and Sgt. Yance T. Gray Photos After exploring several options, we have decided to donate 100% of the funds to the Fisher House charity, an organization we have worked with in the past. Fisher House has a simple goal; to build houses near military medical facilities. Here loved ones of those who have been injured in the line of duty can stay free of charge while their service member undergoes necessary treatment.

We urge you to give what you can to this noble cause for only in this way can Omar and Tell continue to make the lives of their fellow soldiers better even after their passing. I can think of no honor more fitting of a soldier.

The cause would seem unassailable whatever one’s stance on the war or the op-ed in question. Click here to donate.

Thanks, James. As Kyle’s list of the blogs who have linked the fund shows, it truly is a bipartisan effort. It would be nice to see a whole bunch more blogs on that list.

  2. Fisher House is a terrific charity. I’ve donated to them in the past, and will do it again in the future. CNN is a big supporter as well. They auctioned off Warrior One, and gave the proceeds to them.
