FEMA Fake News Conference
The idiots at FEMA stagged a fake news conference to highlight their efforts in California wildfire relief.
The White House scolded the Federal Emergency Management Agency on Friday for staging a phony news conference about assistance to victims of wildfires in southern California.
The agency — much maligned for its sluggish response to Hurricane Katrina over two years ago — arranged to have FEMA employees play the part of independent reporters Tuesday and ask questions of Vice Adm. Harvey E. Johnson, the agency’s deputy director.
The questions were predictably soft and gratuitous.
Heck of a job, Brownie. (Surely, he’s involved somehow?)
I’m sorry but if your a 3-star and you can’t see the likely very bad outcome of this idea, your lack of judgement outweighs anything else you’ve done in your career. You may think reporters are stupid, they may act stupid, but they aren’t really all that stupid especially when it comes to a juicy scandal like this.
Not to mention this was totally planned this way. 15 minute notice? conference calling that is listen only? come on? Once a phone line is connected, it is duplex. Even if not, a number for reporters to call in questions to be asked by staffers might have been a good idea. Or how about not taking any questions? DHS – Department of How Stupid-can-we-be
All news conferences are “fake”, this one just takes the counterpoint![lol] BRAVO!!
Besides it’s not really “fake” if it’s news worthy and diseminated by more competent reporters than usual.
As far as any objective person could see,there are no nationally known “independent” reporters anyway.

Be nice! What this actually does is illustrate that Brownie was not, after all, the depths to which this administration’s incompetence could sink. So give the man a break — besides, he isn’t the one who made that stupid remark.
So is the white house planning to do anything beyond ‘scolding’ FEMA? Like firing someone?
