Teddy Kennedy Has Malignant Brain Tumor

Sad Breaking News from CNN:

Sen. Edward Kennedy has a malignant brain tumor. The hospital treating Kennedy released a statement today saying that the tumor was found during tests after the senator had a seizure Saturday. The tumor is in his left parietal lobe.

AP adds,

His treatment will be decided after more tests but the usual course includes combinations of radiation and chemotherapy.

Average survival can range from less than a year for very advanced and aggressive types — such as glioblastomas — or to about five years for different types that are slower growing.

Please, I can't stand the things Ted Kennedy represents. I can't support his policies. I think he has been bad for the country. That said he is a man, with a family, and should be entitled to some respect and sympathy.

Civility is the right path and now is the time to show it.

Only a complete prick would cast stones at someone who is facing cancer. You may despise Kennedy, fine, act like a man and keep it to yourself.

I despise Cheney & Bush, but would certainly not be cheering if they were in that position.

Guess you guys stayed home when they were giving class out...

Heh. Clearly, you're unwilling to admit having spent any time on any of the Democrat sites, like DU for example, Kos, etc.

Bit..

An asshole is an asshole. Dem, GOP, there are plenty on both sides of the aisle. Wishing on or glorying in ill health in another is the act of an asshole.

I watched my Father die of a brain tumor, I do not wish that pain on anyone.

BTW, you comment only descended to the "jerk" level.

May God have mercy on Ted Kennedy for everything he's done and everything he's failed to do.

Well, tell you what; When Bush 41 does, which I suppose he will before too much longer, time being what it is, I'll be interested to see you over at DU telling them all what anal pores they are for their comments.

Bit,

Instead of taking me to task for something I have not had a chance to say about an event that has not taken place yet, why not look into your own heart and examine your own less than charitable words spoken this very day?

Some things should transcend politics. I despised Nixon when he was president, but I was sad the day he died. He really was a brilliant man, and in many ways a tragic figure. Humanity binds (almost) all of us, and the grim reaper does not give a crap about our politics.

Bithead,

It doesn't matter what OTHER people do--that's not a proper standard for moral behavior. In fact, that's moral relativism.

The point I'm making is that of the double standard applied to such events, gang. This ain't rocket science. Far as I'm concerned most of the ones complaining about current comments about Kennedy, have not leg one to stand on with such complaints.

As I said last night,

Make no mistake; I wish him well in his current physical troubles. I would do so for anyone alive. But do not expect me to mouth platitudes about how much good Ted Kennedy did for this country. He didn’t.

Yep. I meant it, too.

You watch; We'll see the man's name invoked more times between now and November than it's been used in the last 20 years.
