Tony Snow’s First Press Gaggle

Dana Milbank has an amusing look at Tony Snow’s first “gaggle,” and informal meeting with reporters in his office that got rather out of hand. Snow’s tone and inclinations seem right, though: He was funny, self-deprecating, and honest.

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia.

Someone should have asked when Snow would be able to answer questions so they wouldn't have to waste their time going to his press briefings until he's ready to actually give one. E-mailed press releases would serve the purpose, increase WH security and save gasoline in the meantime.

...and save gasoline in the meantime.

Right. Because White House press corps members never go to the White House unless the press secretary is holding a gaggle. It's not like being there is their job or anything.

Truly lame, McGehee. Any comment on my point, or just tied on one too many today?
