"No Chicago sports team will win a championship series."

As I mentioned in my comment, he got this one wrong. The Chicago Wolves of the pro American Hockey League won the Calder Cup.

If the presidential contest is Clinton versus Romney, Romney wins. If it’s Clinton vs. McCain, McCain wins. If it’s Edwards vs. Huckabee, nobody wins.

In which universe is this a prediction that came to pass? Unless, of course, you mean that voters passed on Clinton, Romney, McCain, Edwards, and Huckabee.

That gives me an accuracy of 81.25%.

Your numbers are padded. You really went out on a limb with these:

President Bush will not be impeached by the House of Representatives.

Ron Paul won’t win a single state primary. If he runs as a Libertarian or other third party, he won’t get a single electoral vote. He won’t be elected president.

Maybe for 2009, you might predict that violence will continue in Palestine, the sky will remain blue and the sun will come up each day.

Also, you actually should move the Chicago sports team bit into your "wrong" column. The Wolves won the Calder cup.

I'm not sure I would predict that we'll have more crime in 2009 than in 2008.

Another area not discussed by the candidates is crime. Barely even touched upon, their collective lack of foresight will leave the nation reeling when the economic downturn spurs criminal activity.

Good job for 08. With that win percentage I look forward to your predictions for 09. May I suggest for your background reading the book "The World is Curved" by David Smick. It is a comprehensive, even essential overview of the world's financial systems and the crises we face, written in laymen's terms and not with the fog of a Greenspan.

Some state will have a serious financial crisis caused by lower revenues than expected and the unwillingness either to cut spending or increase taxes. It may well be Illinois.
