RUSH ON RECALL

Rush Limbaugh, who apparently is a radio talk-show host and commentator, has some amusing comments about the California governor recall/election in today’s L.A. Times:
And then there’s the effort to ridicule the process by focusing on some of the more absurd candidates. They include a smut peddler who cares, Larry Flynt. Now, if you think about it, is Flynt really that much different from Bill Clinton?Actor Gary Coleman is throwing his hat in the ring. Yet isn’t Coleman as qualified to lead California as ex-Vermont Gov. Howard Dean is to serve as commander in chief?
Citizens from all walks of life have lined up to run for governor, including some kooks. But so what? Kooks run in many elections. Some even manage to get elected. Take Congress, for example. Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Texas) once asked if the Mars Pathfinder took any pictures of the flag planted by astronauts in 1969–on the moon–and has demanded that African American-sounding names be used for hurricanes. Rep. Pete Stark (D-Hayward) is given to challenging his colleagues to fisticuffs. Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) applauded Osama bin Laden for his philanthropy. And the list goes on.
Indeed. Limbaugh should consider starting up a weblog and regularly posting this sort of stuff for all to see. I mean, who listens to radio anymore? Especially in the afternoon, when most people have to be at work?

I mean, I guess it's okay as far as broad humorous commentary goes, but I'd be more impressed by this Limbaugh guy if he'd provide links to primary sources. He's no Scrappleface or Frank J, but I can see some potential here if he keeps working at it.
Maybe if Glenn Reynolds gave him a plug his work would be more well known.
I just don't see him getting anywhere unless he gets serious and starts up a blog. As Greg pointed out, there's no way to really link with this "guy talking out over the airwaves" format. It just goes nowhere. And if you miss that one moment the guy's talking, you've missed his whole blog, 'cause he didn't bother to write it down.
