CPAC: Liddy and Franken

James Joyner, OTB

G. Gordon Liddy and Al Franken are doing a joint broadcast of their shows today. Surprisingly, given the few clips I’ve heard of Franken’s show and not-at-all surprisingly having heard hours of Liddy’s show, the interaction has been quite congenial. Political discussion with actual, intelligent dialogue is an interesting concept. One wonders if it will ever catch on.

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia.

That is because G Gordon is a gentleman, witty and
will raise the level of discourse to something other than sophomoric snarking at the right.

Most conservatives DO usually raise the level of
interchange. Witness blogs. Need I say more?

What's the surprise? Didn't GG Liddy get back into the publich eye with his campus to campus roadshow debating Timothy Leary?

Gordon Liddy has such a depth of knowledge I can't imagine a blowhard like Franken hanging very long in a serious debate. It would be fun to listen in though.

Ol' BC,

It must be difficult walking around with such a limited imagination. Do you think G. would waste his time with Al if he didn't feel it generated some interesting discussion?
