A-Rod: Ungrateful Bastard

A-Rod tells Yankees he won’t play in World Baseball Classic (AP)

NEW YORK (AP) — Alex Rodriguez told the New York Yankees he won’t play in the inaugural World Baseball Classic, just two days after saying he was leaning toward being on the Dominican Republic’s team.

[...]

Baseball officials said at last week’s winter meetings that Rodriguez, who last month won his second AL MVP award, had agreed to play in tournament but had not decided whether he wanted to play for the United States or the Dominican Republic. The third baseman was born in New York but his parents are Dominican.

“When faced with the decision to choose between my country, the United States of America, and my Dominican heritage, I decided I will not dishonor either,” Rodriguez was quoted as saying in Friday’s editions of the New York Post.

But of course his decision does dishonor the United States, and is a betrayal of everything it has given to the Rodriguez family. My advice (and my hope) is for A-Rod to pack his bags and take his ungrateful arse and move to the glorious Dominican Republic which he loves so much. His parents can become dirt farmers, and he can play baseball in open sewers with a rock for a ball and a broken broomstick for a bat.

What a disloyal and ungrateful bastard.

i would prefer to play for the dominican republic, seeing they have a better team than the stuck up USA. The Dominican's don't even need him, and anyone would prefer to play for another country instead of the US(i.e. Piazza with Italy. Its typical american bias saying that they are better but I dont see them beating a coutnry filled with "dirt farmers" and where they "play baseball in open sewers with a rock for a ball and a broken broomstick for a bat." The US wishes they had the line up filled with the likes of Manny Ramirez, Albert Pujols, Vladimir Guerrero, David Ortiz, Miguel Tejada, and Adrian Beltre.

He plays almost 162 games for America (of which New York is a part) in the regular season, and (during his time so far with the Yankees) several more in October. That's not enough for you?

I am a Dominican living in the United States, and all I wanted to say is that I am disgusted that someone as intelligent as you, whose blog I read on a daily basis, could have such a bigoted and racist view of Dominicans and the Dominican Republic.

Words cannot describe what a shameful post this is.
