Al Franken as Mick Jagger Video

In case you’ve somehow missed this video of Al Franken in tights mimicking Mick Jagger from 20-odd years ago that’s newly amusing now that the former is apparently the next United States Senator from Minnesota:

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and infant daughter.

Seeing Franken prance around in a comedic mimic of Mick Jagger is a refreshing change from the image of the chimp prancing around in a macho mimic of a real man.

I didn't know the story of Frankenstein included a seat in the United States senate. Wonder if Gene Wilder will again play the part of Frankenstein, when Hollywood tells the story.

Many have made the transition from the entertainment industry to politics. All of them, like Reagan, got made fun of for it.

Unfortunately that was as funny as Franken ever got. I used to cringe when he would come on SNL. One of the main reasons I quit watching it. He wasn't funny, and the show wasn't funny either. It wasn't until Will Farrell and people who seemed to truly enjoy a good laugh came on that I enjoyed it again.
