America: Hate It or Immigrate to It

I was just listening to an interview with an Iraqi high school girl on As It Happens, a CBC Radio program that is aired on WAMU, my local NPR station. After spending ten minutes decrying the sad situation her country is in, saying that she is much less safe now than when Saddam was in power, and that she wants America to restore things to how they were and then leave, the interviewer asked if she thought she might be better off leaving Iraq. She said that she’d never lived outside of Baghdad but that, if she ever left, she’d want to live in America.

He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. Actually, that reaction is normal and predictable. At least according to Amy Chua, author of World On Fire.
In an interview on C-SPAN, she discussed anti-Americanism. The feeling of many people in the developing world was, "America, get out! And take me with you!"

I'am so tired with these people who continually degrade our Country, complaining about their state of affairs and knocking us for trying to help them. I find it amusing how these people are so quick with their negative comments about the good ol' USA, then the first chance they get they all come over here...here's to them...stay the fuck in you own damn country, and stop taking our jobs!
