An Introduction
Hello OTB readers, my name is Doug Mataconis and, starting tomorrow I will be joining the stable of writers here at Outside The Beltway.
Some of you may already know my though my own blog, Below The Beltway, where I’ve been blogging since July 2005, or from the libertarian-oriented blogs The Liberty Papers and United Liberty. Along with Instapundit and Vodkapundit, Outside The Beltway was one of the blogs that I started reading on a regular basis back in 2003 or so, and one of the inspirations for me to start doing this on my own back in July of 2005. So, the invitation to join the writing staff here is something I consider an honor.
For the most part, I’ll be blogging about U.S. politics and foreign policy, as well as whatever happens to be in the news on a particular day. I’ll still be blogging at my personal blog, but the posts there will deal with more partisan libertarian matters, as well as Virginia state politics.
I’d like to thank James and the rest of the staff at OTB for inviting me on board. I look forward to contributing.
