Why would this be 'distressing', to anyone?

We've known for years the politics that TIME subscribes to, and in it's turn, promotes. THey consider that their role, these days.

They've simply hired someone that can do the job better.

It's hard to be say much about these things as less prominent bloggers saying anything bad about Cox are dismissed as envious. She's a talented woman and likely up to the job.

Still, it's a more than slightly unusual career path. One usually doesn't go from gossip columnist with a penchant for raunchiness to getting hired by TIME as a feature writer to being Washington Editor in a short span.
