At Least Eight Killed in Red Lake School Shooting
At least eight people, including the gunman, are dead and another dozen wounded in a school shooting in Red Lake, Minnesota according to Associated Press reports.
Eight Said Killed in Minn. School Shooting (ABC News)
A gunman opened fire in Minnesota Monday, killing eight people, with the suspect believed among those dead, authorities said. Six of the dead were killed at a high school.
The FBI said eight people died in the mid-afternoon shooting in Red Lake in far northern Minnesota. Tom Lyons, chief deputy for Beltrami County, said up to 14 other people were injured.
An NPR report indicated that some of those wounded are expected to die as well.
Obviously, a horrible tragedy for the families involved. We can expect another round of “troubled teen” stories such as those that followed the Colombine murders a few years ago. This is not, however, a trend.
