BACK OUTSIDE THE BELTWAY

I encountered absolutely horrendous traffic on the way in to DC this evening, which is actually rather rare since most of the evening rush is moving eastbound and I was heading into DC. I must have gotten some spillover effects from this horrendous crash on I-95.

How one drives a tanker truck over a barrier from an overpass, I’ll never know.

Aside from traffic, the meet-up with Brett Marston went quite well. It turned out to be a good thing that he told me he would be wearing a Red Sox hat, as I wouldn’t have recognized him from the photo on the SUNY-Oswego site. Old Ebbitt’s is a nice place, we had beverages and a good meal, and we met up with his girlfriend when she got out of class. In all, we chatted well over two hours, very little of it about blogging.

I’ve actually met several people directly from this enterprise–Brett, Jen of Jen Speaks, the former blogger known as John Lemon, and (telephonically) Wizbang’s Kevin Aylward. They’ve all turned out to be nice folks.
