Bill Clinton Champions Monogamy

From the Department of You Can’t Make This Stuff Up:  Bill Clinton is now the poster boy for monogamy.

Clinton’s advice to beat Aids: stay faithful

Clinon: called for a new emphasis on monogamy as a key element in the battle against Aids.

Bill Clinton made a plea yesterday for a new emphasis on monogamy as a key element in the battle against Aids.  The former US president, not noted for his ability to keep his own marriage vows, said it was very important to change people’s attitudes to sex.

In an interview with the BBC recorded in Africa, Mr Clinton said that increasing support for monogamy was not just a problem for the continent worst hit by Aids but for the world.  “To pretend we can ever get hold of this without dealing with that – the idea of unprotected sexual relations with unlimited numbers of partners – I think would be naïve,” he said.

Of course, Clinton’s pronouncement could help cure one sickness while causing a whole other set of symptoms.  Edward Christie has the first known case:

I’m feeling disoriented, dizzy; everything is going blurry, and the room is spinning.

Perhaps this is a classic case of the old Vulcan proverb, Only Nixon can go to China?

I think he's under the mistaken notion that HIV can't be transmitted by oral to genital contact.

True, Dave. After all, that's not 'sex', right?

I think this is more like Al Gore's electric bill. The classic leftist 'Do as I say, not as I do' theory for running other people's lives.

Why must everybody disparage Clinton like this? There is no evidence that he ever cheated on any of his mistresses.

So, I guess that only "he who is without sin" can preach against sin?

Seems like there wouldn't be too many advocates of anything by that standard.

The person making the argument has no bearing on the truth or falsity of the argument.

Then I suppose it would be ok if we just call him Captain Obvious? This isn't exactly a new idea and if people don't practice it now, the hope is that they may stop and think Hey, Bill Clinton said we should stop screwing everything that comes down the pike, I think I'll heed his advice. Awesome, if only we knew sooner that this would be the answer!

I believe any sinner can be saved, but it may be a while before I'd trust his preaching.

Alex is right. We all make mistakes and even the biggest of sinners can understand it's still a sin. Clintons advice is valuable to anyone who takes it.
