 Outside the Beltway

Blogging News Network Prequel

Bryan S writes about how, in May 2004, he and some other bloggers tried and failed to create a Blogger News Network. As discussed here Tuesday, another, more well funded group, appears about to launch a version that I hope will be more successful.

Meanwhile, I discovered by accident last night that another site has grabbed the name (although not the URL) already.

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia.

I'm not sure "grabbed" is the right word. Bloggers News Network got up-and-running several months ago, before the newest venture was mooted about in public. I think it more an idea whose time has come. (Disclaimer: I do enter articles on Blogger News Network http://www.bloggernews.net, and have been doing so since its inception.)

I too blog for Blogger News Network. The "legendgames" url is up until we are moved onto the new server. It has to do with the way Google News accepts articles. We are continually expanding and show no signs of slowing down.
