Breaking: Few People Have Access To President’s Email Address!

The New York Times has a long-winded article that states the obvious: not too many people have President Obama’s email address.

It is now the ultimate status symbol in a town obsessed by status. Mr. Obama was spotted last week trying out his new BlackBerry — or actually a more sophisticated, encrypted variation — and aides say that he uses a computer in the study next to the Oval Office but that he has agreed to limit the number of people he would exchange e-mail with. In the process, he created a new measure for Washington to judge who really has the ear, or the thumb, of the president.

Is anyone actually surprised by this? Good lord, I get 300+ emails a day with all of my various activities, and nothing I do is as remotely important as the job of the President. I can’t imagine that President Obama could get much done if his email address was widely distributed.

Did it really take three reporters to come up with this obvious fact?

This is part of the reason why I only glance at the title and short summaries of articles in the "Politics" section of the NYT. They can be so inane.

What else politically have they got to write about that isn't obvious?

"Obama surprised Iraqi's again have peaceful display of democracy in latest elections"? Nope.

"Stimulus bill full of non-stimulus pork and most of the money not even to be spent this year"? Nope.

"Promise of bipartisanship quickly dropped by White House"? Nope.

"Obama's planned appeasement of Iran stopped before began by Iran itself"? Nope.

"President's first year deficit to double and maybe triple Bush's"? Nope.

"Obama hypocrite on home heating habits"? Nope.

Gosh, WHAT the heck is there to write about???

"Did it really take three reporters to come up with this obvious fact?"

And two editors, one copy-editor and a senior editor.
