Brit Claims Abuse Photos Fake

Reuters/MSNBC: ‘Inconsistencies’ seen in U.K. abuse photos

A former commander of a British Army regiment said Monday that photos purporting to show some of the unit’s soldiers abusing an Iraqi prisoner had “too many inconsistencies” to be genuine.

The Daily Mirror newspaper stood by the photos, which allegedly show a hooded Iraqi being pushed, threatened and urinated on by a soldier from the Queen’s Lancashire Regiment.

Col. David Black, who led the regiment in the 1980s, told British Broadcasting Corp. television that equipment and a truck pictured in the photos had not been used by the regiment in Iraq. He said he did not believe the photos had been taken in the Middle Eastern country.

“The evidence we have seen so far looking at the photographs, there are too many inconsistencies,” he said.

Tony Blair continues to condemn the attack, however.

What? You mean there is some question about whether someone would PhotoShop something just to throw bad light upon the current military action in Iraq? Appallin', simply appallin'.

_Yes, someone would PhotoShop something at this current time. Not to throw bad light on the current millitary action in Iraq. But, to shift public focus on an issue that the US can resolve with success, unlike the "cancer" growing on our should-be-focus. This also adds fuel to the inferno of Arabias discontent with us and the recoil will be like nothing we have seen yet. The photo's will become good-$-news for defense contractors with a foot in the revolving door. I reckon Rummy(70=retirement) will take the shoe on this issue and we will solve and forget about these snapshots just before something else happens, making or breaking the 2k4 election. I'll also bet we dont see these acused on live-TV, ever. Something very BIG must be going down for our Gov't intel. (or the Mossad) to come up with such awfull News for us to be entertained with. Yes, sick news sells and grabs our attention like none other. When we see awfull news we know we wouldn't commit, we begin to feel better about ourselves (Heroin of the Republic). We loose focus from the real issue of WHY ARE IN IRAQ! By the way, Osama Bin Laden vids all seem fake to me, just a gut feeling. The Mass Media is being duped by someone pushing fabricated stories, clogging the Truth from spreading. Imagine this, you are seated in a room and in walks a 5'10" busty and sexed out burnette gal smiling at you and wearing absoulte nothing, I know I wouldn't see another damn thing to walk into the room untill she left the room. "ya gotta se it before ya can believe it."_
