Building a Better Blogtrap
Steve Bainbridge offers this aside in a TCS Daily piece explaining the new direction he’s taking his blog magazine into:
Some folks will tell you they have no aspirations to compete; indeed, they’ll probably tell you that thinking about blogging as competition is immoral, fattening, or otherwise wrongheaded. Of course, they’re probably wearing Birkenstocks and writing on a Mac, while sipping Fair Trade coffee and puffing a doobie.
Indeed.
On the other hand, conservative Bruce Bartlett writes in bitching about the freedom of choice made available online. Now there’s something you don’t see every day.

Hmm, I am wearing socks, writing on a Gateway, sipping some Starbucks Sumatra that I brewed at home and have heard music by the Doobie Brothers at different times in my life (and even remember the time that they were on What's Happening--the very special anti-bootlegging episode).
But then again I have no problem with the idea of thinking of blogging as competition.
They want 'members' to 'register.' Why?
And since when does writing something on a Mac make you a liberal anyway? ;)
Yeah, thanks for the snippet. I am super stoked to go check out the site of a guy who thinks in brilliant stereotypes!
