Kevin Drum has been at it four years, going back to his CalPundit days. He was one of the first wave of big political bloggers and remains among the most popular.
While we usually disagree on the issues, Kevin’s blog has always been among my favorites. It likely has the highest signal to noise ratio of any of the A-listers. He somehow manages to keep up a prolific pace without resorting to “just get something up” posts. That was true even in the days he was doing it as a hobby.
About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and infant daughter.

Nicely said James.
Drum's one of my favourites and so far above some of his competition like Kos and Atrios as to be in an utterly different league.

Hmmm. I've been at it for four and a half years. I don't know which wave of all-but-invisible political bloggers I was part of, but I'm pretty sure I'm still just as popular as I was then. If my SiteMeter history is to be trusted.
