First: Wyatt Earp - In their constant effort to acquire more power, Rosie O’Donnell (left) and Michael Moore prepare to drink the blood of two Republican babies.

Come on, that wasn't funny, that was pandering. You could see the punchline from a mile away, and when you finally got to it, the delivery was miserable. The fact that G.A. Phillips found it funny should have disqualified it immediately.

Winners should have included Dave Schuler's "Less filling! Tastes great!" and charles austin's "Ten-week mutant ninja babies!", which wasn't even an honorable mention, what gives?

Thanks, Rodney!

Michael - Think about all of the antioxidants you'll receive after eating those sour grapes.

How can my comment be labeled "sour grapes" when I didn't even submit an entry to that caption contest?

I'm just saying that yours wasn't funny, and that Dave and Charles had much better submissions.

Mister Moore, just STFU, will ya? Write a "Documentary" about it.

While my ego appreciates the appreciation, I'm not sure it is warranted in this case. Personally, I was kinda fond of my "Blame Bushido!" as the personification of Oscar Wilde's aphorism about brevity and the soul of wit, but the last things I'm going to do are to complain about any of my captions not winning or to lobby for them. Caption contest beauty is in the mind's eye of the beholder and this is Rodney's contest and he's the one who puts the work into it so it his mind's eye that matters.

There were several captions that made me laugh this week and none of them were mine, though I did admittedly smirk once or twice at my attempts to grab the bi-weekly golden chalice of snarky wit offered by Time Magazine's 2006 Person of the Year. Sic transit gloria mundi.

Congratulations Mr. Earp.
