Cheney to Russert: You’re Not in Season

Hotline presents some excerpts from yesterday’s “Meet the Press,” which featured Vice President Cheney being interviewed by Tim Russert. A fairly amusing exchange:

Russert: “Should I be relieved you didn’t bring your shotgun in today?”

Cheney: “I wouldn’t worry about it. You’re not in season.”

I thought journalists were always in season?

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia.

Anyway, once you let out the hot air and excrement, you wouldn't have much to put on the table.

Of course Cheney should love Russert--his consistent lobbing of softball questions to Dick is pathetic.

Triumph,
Guess you have never seen him interview Hillary. Now that is a hard hitting interview.
Russert's heart rate and breathing pegs out and you can see all his dental work with the grinning and drooling. Bet he has an political erection.

I am sure you're right. The guy is not a journalist--he is a bipartisan sychophant.
