I’m receiving a complimentary copy of this anthology from Nick Gillespie, so expect a review hopefully in the next month or so. Judging by the table of contents, it should be pretty interesting. It contains several articles of which I’m quite fond, including “After Socialism” by Virginia Postrel and “Velvet President” by Matt Welch. It also has “35 Heroes of Freedom”, a feature that I applauded in late 2003 for its profile of Brian Lamb. One of my all-time favorites — “The Many Faces of Newt Gingrich” by my mentor Jack Pitney — is left out, but the rest of the selections seem to compensate for this omission.
