Jimmy Carter is a good man, but he's hopeless when it comes to politics.

Guess that explains the many wars fought between Egypt and Israel since he left office.

I'm not a bushie, but keep telling yourself that if it helps reinforce your worldview. I have no doubt that Senator Hagel is a good man, but that's not the point. Jimmy Carter is a good man, but he's hopeless when it comes to politics.

Hagel is a highly decorated combat vet who thinks the issue through and actually read legislation before signing it. No mystery why the bushies hate him.

Hagel is a good man who has a lot to contribute to the discussion of foreign policy & national security. Would not have minded seeing him as National Security Adviser.
