 Outside the Beltway

CLANCY ON CLANCY

Newsweek has an interview with Tom Clancy about his upcoming novel The Teeth of the Tiger. Amusingly, Clancy continually insists that he’s not trying to make political points, he’s merely a storyteller. But, throughout the interview, he’s making political points. As he does in his novels.

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia.

He seemed to admit, however, on Hannity and Colmes the other night, that his books do make fun of liberals after a fashion.

And every time I have seen him interviewed he makes political points.

Yes, but none of those political points are good, sophisticated, or accurate. It's like watching a blind man playing darts, which makes it a lot like reading his books.
