Cuban Philosophy
One of the things I like about Mark Cuban is his ability to simultaneously be almost ridiculously driven and yet not take himself particularly seriously. How’s this for a business philosophy:
Passion in business demands passion. A byproduct of passion is saying exactly how you feel in a way that you know will get someoneâs attention, and listening to exactly how someone else feels when they need to get your attention. All of this is my way of saying that I expect people who work for me to yell at me, and I expect them to know that at times I will do the same. If someone is pissed off, if they think Iâm doing something wrong, or the wrong way, and Iâm being too pigheaded to see it. Blast me.
I suspect this wouldn’t work well in most organizations. Still, it’s a rather refreshing attitude.
