Deadweight Loss

Can somebody send this link to Wikipedia’s entry on deadweight loss to the Obama campaign (and the McCain campaign too)? This is one of the reasons why there is no such thing as a magic energy pony that is going to allow us to “end our dependence on Middle Eastern oil.” And please spare me the complete bravo sierra about creating millions of “new” jobs.

About the Author: Steve has a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and attended graduate school at The George Washington University, leaving school shortly before staring work on his dissertation when his first child was born. He works in the energy industry and prior to that worked at the Bureau of Labor Statistics in the Division of Price Index and Number Research.

Oh, look. More reactionary commentary by Steve Verdon. Are yo sure you wouldn't fit in better at RedState or Hot Air?

As I commented in another article, Steve, you are quite reactionary and not very thoughtful.

I hardly think Steve V.'s stating of economic reality is reactionary. Too many people ignore those realities when talking energy.

Since I'm not a reader of RedState or Hot Air I must assume they too deal in facts rather than hopes and dreams.
