IT’S NOT EASY interviewing a woman while looking at her nude. But we’d just received the March issue of Playboy when Deborah Gibson called. We had no choice but to compliment the ’80s teen pop singer on her layout.

“There’s a way to do it artistically and a way to do it raunchy,” Gibson said of Playboy, which she claims started approaching her to pose when she was 17. “I put out anti-sexual images for so long, and I was so prudish for so long, it’s about time,” says the 34-year-old.
She’ll sign copies of the magazine from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at Tower Records (100 S. Broad).

Asked if she minds if guys shake their love to her Playboy spread, she says “I had many of men shaking their love to those virginal pictures back in the day. Being a prudish, cutesy teen star really brings out the wacky men.” “Playboy is a men’s entertainment magazine, do whatever you want, I don’t want to hear about it, but I’m glad to be of service.”
