Who exercised diplomacy? There has been no coherent diplomatic policy since 2000. Prior to 2000, sanctions against Iraq were working. Containment was successful. Proof: No WMD's found. With a little patience on the part of QuicksDraw, we might have discovered that before mortgaging our grandkids' future.

Military solutions are band-aids. Suppose the US military "wins". What does that look like? I think all arabs must be dead.

Imagine some larger power invading US (aliens if you like). Will you surrender or will you form a resistance and fight to the death for your country? That's what they are doing. Best thing we can do is leave.

Mine are better, though. If the Democrats had been in charge, the attacks of 9/11 would not have happened. They would have been smart enough to see the warning signs and actually do something about them. A Democratic president would not have gone on vacation for the entire month prior to the attacks after having been warned that they were likely to occur.

I think you mean 'hindsight' abilities there, Len. No one but the hijackers knew the attack would happen on 9-11. Of course the Clinton administration did a great job of ignoring terrorist attacks on the U.S. until the voters booted their 'all-knowing' party out of the White House.
