Democrats: Majority of Americans Idiots, Out of our Minds, and Dumb

Apropos John Edwards’ remarks, a Michelle Malkin readers observes,

Ok, Edwards has now said I am crazy, Tere$$$$a has said that I am an idiot, and Maureen Dowd called my security mom-wife dumb. I get it, but I wish they would stop before they start insulting my mother, father, or my beautiful children. Is this the campaign of inclusion and one of bringing people together[?]

No kidding.

The quotes in question:

“I’d say if you live in the United States of America and you vote for George Bush, you’ve lost your mind.” - Sen. John Edwards, ABC News Nightline, October 4

“Only an idiot wouldn’t like this,” Heinz Kerry told the Intelligencer Journal of Lancaster for a story in its Thursday editions. “Of course, there are idiots.” - Teresa Heinz Kerry, October 9

Update: I Google’d and couldn’t find the Dowd quote in question. I’ve seen reference to the quote, “The so-called security moms, who have replaced soccer moms as a desirable demographic, are now flocking to Mr. Bush over Mr. Kerry, believing he can better protect their kids from scary terrorists” but the article in question is in the NYT pay-per-view archives.

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and infant daughter.

What did Dowd say, exactly? I can't find it anywhere right now. I would like to see her quote. She's one of the stranger ones, I must say.

I couldn't Dowd's, although I didn't look hard. The NYT archives columns very quickly and I didn't blog on it, creating a deep link to the RSS.

Does Edwards mean if I am a citizen living outside the USA and I vote for Bush, then I am considered sane? As opposed to those living in country?

Don't forget Bush is a Liar!
(recent Kerry commercial) ...and don't forget all the cute names: "Bushies" "Neocons" etc.
This just keeps getting better and better!

NO, don't stop. Keep talking! Keep name calling! Even John Kerry's big 'ol feet can only take so many shots!

Dowd's column on "security mom's" in the NY Times is here. And, although I'm very security minded, even if it doesn't directly come out and call us dumb it's not hard to read between the lines.

Really, Today is October 5 - where do you get your information, GW's direct connection to God?

It's actually dated 09/10/2004; James must have read it in the European manner when transcribing. Which you would have seen for yourself, if you had clicked the link. But you didn't, and thus denied yourself a much better opportunity to make fun of your host than the one you ended up choosing. Ah, kharma.
