DEMOCRATS REDUX

Ironically, in light of the last post, William Saletan sees the Democrats turning ever leftward. Of course, he also thinks Howard Dean is a “major candidate.”

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia.

It ain't ironic... They are both right.

The Dems will one day get thier head out their behinds and have a message that America wants. BUT they will have to finishing ruining themselves first. Sorta like when the stock market searchs for a bottom.

The Dems will go hard left until the party is in near collapse then they will figure it out. Some of it is generational. The "Flower Power" children are running the show. Today on campus there is a growing conservative movement. As the old socialist wing dies they will get new blood.

They will both be right, it might just take a while.
