Funny way of defining left and right. In fact, one would almost say a stupid and pointless way of doing it. Well, unless one is a demagogue.

Or a comedian?

But it actually works reasonably well as a shorthand. Most conservatives (as opposed to libertarian Republican types) oppose gay marriage. Most liberals (in the modern Jimmy Carter-Mike Dukakis-Howard Dean sense of the word) tend to think we can get along with overseas nut cases if we're just nice enough to them.

Would these be the same nut case cultivated by Reagan during the 80's? The one that Don Rumsfeld shook hands with? Would this be the same right that sold arms to the Iranians during the eighties to fund an illegal operation in El Salvador? Or would this be the same right that is so buddy buddy with the Saudis - objectively far more involved with Al Qaeda than Saddam ever was in the PNAC's best wet dream.

Inquiring minds want to know. . .

Was trying to follow Miller's line of reasoning to the conclusion. After all, if you're against the war in Iraq, you're pro-terrorist by his logic, right?

Funny, I thought that was pretty much Miller's standard line. May not be what you think, but I think his thoughts on the matter are pretty clear.

Poor Dennis. Reinventing himself to salvage a career ruined by his disastrous MNF stint. James, rather than sounding like a beatlemaniac deconstructing the White Album to show that Paul is dead, just admit it: Dennis Miller is your guilty pleasure.

To Hal:

The USA did not construct or arm Saddam. The USA was not his benefactor, the USSR was until its much-delayed death

His biggest suppliers were Russia, China and France (the USA supplied him with some trucks and some photo intel on the Iranians. The US accounts for around 2% of Iraqi military spending from 1973-1990, around the same as Denmark)

Are you aware of facts? Any of them?

The Democrats and EU condemned Eastern Europe to perpetual Soviet slavery to maintain "stability"

But hey, they are only evil if they are our allies, right?
