You know who else hosted an Olympics?

Hitler.

I know it is silly, but when was the last time school children were taught to sing songs of praise about our leader in terms one could mistake as worship?

Yeah, I hate that when that happens... oops.

More famous conservative long-term memory failure again. Better go get your Aricept prescription refilled--that is, if you can remember this 10 minutes from now.

The song does sorta praise our country for helping them. It does mention Bush. ... but praise? Nope. doesn't pass the sniff test. Got anymore excerpts from the song? I may change my mind.

I'm not thrilled that the teacher did that, either, but I'd also hesitate to generalize the example of one teacher, in one classroom, who was reprimanded to be indicative of a trend or policy...

And let's not forget that the President telling your kids to work hard in school is now considered an attempt to brainwash them into socialism.

John's post wouldn't be so funny if I hadn't heard people make the same analogies with even less reasoning.

Since Obama is going all in, what happens if Chicago doesn't get the Olympics?

In regards to the singing about Obama, think of the children. These videos aren't going to be hidden away in some closet where only their mom could pull them out and embarrassingly play them. No, in a few years these kids will be in high school and the video will be sent around under the subject, "What dork" Even worse if Obama replaces Jimmy Carter as loser president emeritus.

Oh how I love concern-trolling. What happens if he does? I love how the Right has labeled Obama as arrogant despite the past 8 years of a certain President, but can't stand when he's humble as in this case. He's putting himself out there to try to get an upperhand, I just can't see why people want to act so cowardly about such things. If he gets rejected so what, unless of course his rejection tips the balance to a New World Order with Iran at the helm.

JKB, why do you hate America? Do you want Obama to fail? What's wrong with advocating for Chicago to host the Olympics? Do you hate the troops, too?

Yes, think of the children. Think of how embarrassed they're going to be when their sitting in Iraq still fighting GWB's war-of-choice in Iraq. Yes, how frightening.

Even worse if Obama replaces Jimmy Carter as loser president emeritus.

This sounds more like a wish than anything remotely connected to reality. Besides, GWB has a pretty good head start on just about any other President--living, dead, or to-be--in that race.
