Drudge on Hurricane Rita: This Is It

Drudge is running the following: This Is It

Hurricane Rita seems to be as bad as feared. Let’s hope that my last post on dueling ideologies is meaningful in the morning — ie, that the damage here in human terms is minimal and that a discussion about day-to-day political shenanigans isn’t trivial by comparison to what nature may wreak.

Coverage:
Rita’s Strongest Winds Batter Gulf Coast (AP)
Hurricane Rita assaults Texas, Louisiana (Reuters)
Eyewall of Hurricane Rita about to slam into US coast (AFP)

We’ll know more in the morning, but let’s hope that the effect of hurricane Rita is less than that of Katrina.
