Drudge: Pope Dies

I can’t find confirmation on this, but Drudge is usually careful about making sure such headlines are correct.

Update (1350): Drudge has pulled the headline and is now running several links to reports that say the Pope is still with us. This is the wrong man to count out prematurely.

Update (1400): Contradictory Italian Media Reports on Pope Health

Update (James Joyner): I see Stotch and Kate are on this one, so removed my duplicate post. Rusty Shackleford has reports going both ways on this one and appears to be updating profusely. I’ll be out of pocket the rest of the day. My co-bloggers should pick up the slack, however.

Fox originally said he had died, and based on that I posted http://donsingleton.blogspot.com/2005/04/pope-is-dead_01.html on my blog. I have now updated it to say he is still with us, and will update it again when he finally goes Home to be with Christ
