If this shrine is indeed as important to the Islam religion as the Washington Monument is to US Historical Significance, then then got it right (which is pretty much what I said in my second paragraph)

But, EVERY shrine or holy site that is reported on is always reported as "a most holy site." I just don't believe they are all one of the most holy sites, its just another overexaggeration by the MSM. You don't hear of every Baptist church burned Alabama as being one of the most important or significant churches to the Baptists.
(Obviously the burnings are very significant to the members of the individual churches)

How do you think the MSM would describe the destruction of, say, the Washington Monument? How would you describe it?

It is 'the holiest' in the same respect that any given day is 'the bloodiest'. It's all relative to the picture being painted by the warped media. We never seem to hear about the 'least bloody' or 'least holy' aspects of the news, although the former is certainly news.

This is proof positive that this is not a religion of peace practiced by the cowards of Islamic terror. They will blow up their own Mosque. That would be akin to feuding Catholics blowing up cathedrals in Boston.
Peaceful and truly religious people allow others the freedom to worship as they wish under the laws of the land.
Where are the Millions of Muslims in the streets protesting the bombing of Mosques by these so called Muslims?
Why get so bent about a cartoon and yet seemingly nothing about this "most holy" mosque bombing?
It's all symbolism over substance.

True enough. Iraq and the land that its on is home to the oldest civilization in the world and Baghdad was essentially the capital of Islam for the early centuries.
