All news conferences are "fake", this one just takes the counterpoint![lol] BRAVO!! Besides it's not really "fake" if it's news worthy and diseminated by more competent reporters than usual. As far as any objective person could see,there are no nationally known "independent" reporters anyway.

I'm sorry but if your a 3-star and you can't see the likely very bad outcome of this idea, your lack of judgement outweighs anything else you've done in your career. You may think reporters are stupid, they may act stupid, but they aren't really all that stupid especially when it comes to a juicy scandal like this.

Not to mention this was totally planned this way. 15 minute notice? conference calling that is listen only? come on? Once a phone line is connected, it is duplex. Even if not, a number for reporters to call in questions to be asked by staffers might have been a good idea. Or how about not taking any questions? DHS - Department of How Stupid-can-we-be
