Foreign Affairs – Kennan Tribute

Foreign Affairs managing editor Gideon Rose e-mails to inform me that there’s a host of free material on their site honoring the late George F. Kennan. There is indeed a treasure trove on their Kennan In Memoriam page.

About the Author: James Joyner is the publisher of Outside the Beltway and the managing editor of the Atlantic Council. He's a former Army officer, Desert Storm vet, and college professor with a PhD in political science from The University of Alabama. He lives just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and infant daughter.

It is dificult to explain how this one man changed Ameican society, but he did. I agree, go to the a Keenan in Memoriam page - you may not always agree, but he made you think. As has been often said, he understood the Russians better than his own people, the Americans. He was of the realist school of politics.
